Why I Am Running for District 9
After careful deliberation with family and friends, I have decided to jump back into the race to represent District 9 on Louisville Metro Council. I believe that what our city needs, now more than ever, is more working parents and working people in the halls of government. We need leaders who share our lived experiences of trying to make ends meet in an increasingly inequitable world.
Understanding Our Struggles
We need representatives who understand the burden of working full-time, raising kids, taking care of family members, and paying student loans. Our voices are under-represented, and it is time to stand up and say, "Enough."
A Commitment to Our Community
I am running to represent the citizens of District 9 and improve the daily lives of those living in Bellewood, Beechwood Village, Braeview, Brownsboro Village, Druid Hills, Cherokee Gardens, St. Matthews, Clifton, Reidlonn, Irish Hill, Richlawn, Crescent Hill, Clifton Heights, and Top Hill. Together, we can connect our neighborhoods and create a better place to live, work, and thrive.
The Importance of Representation
Representation matters. When our leaders reflect the community they serve, they are better equipped to address our unique challenges. I want to ensure that the voices of working families are heard loud and clear in City Hall.
Building Stronger Neighborhoods
Each neighborhood in District 9 has its own character and needs. By working together, we can enhance our community's strengths and address its weaknesses. I envision a District 9 where everyone feels included and valued.
Focusing on Equitable Development
Equitable development is crucial for our community's future. We must prioritize projects that benefit all residents, not just a select few. This means investing in affordable housing, public spaces, and local businesses.
Public Safety for All
Public safety is a top concern for many residents. I believe in a balanced approach that supports our police while also addressing the root causes of crime. We need to invest in community programs that promote safety and well-being. Simple fixes like better lighting, improving sidewalks, and lowering speed limits make a measurable difference in the safety of our neighborhoods.
Environmental Preservation
As we develop our neighborhoods, we must also protect our environment. Sustainable practices enhance our quality of life. I am committed to promoting green initiatives that benefit both our community and the planet.
