Transportation is a passion of mine. People need infrastructure to live their lives successfully. Louisville and District 9's transportation infrastructure, like much of the country, is in need of major investment and modernization. We need to re-imagine our streets to adapt to a changing climate with a focus on sustainability.
We have far too many preventable pedestrian fatalities in the city. We need to lower speed limits, enforce traffic laws on the books, and look at every project beyond just drive-ability or traffic congestion.
If elected, I pledge to work hard to improve pedestrian safety across the District, specifically along Frankfort Avenue and Brownsboro Road. We need to improve the sidewalks, crosswalks and right of ways to ensure adults and children are able to safely walk throughout our historic neighborhoods.
Cars are expensive and not everyone can afford them. I will work to support and better fund TARC. We must give people options by improving the transportation choices available with a focus on economic accessibility.
Our district, city and region are growing. We need a multi-modal transportation system that prioritizes safety, and is convenient, economical and sustainable.
